George Washington memorial Free mason temple, Alexandria
Ever since the furor created by DaVinci Code, I was always intrigued by the Free Masonry society and since they had a temple in Alexandria which is close to Washington DC, I decided to pay a visit. The building had several rooms like the Scotish rite room, Grandmaster room, Lodge room, Knight's templar room, Royal Arch room and so on. Most rooms have emblems and symbols borrowed from the Solomon's temple the most famous being the Masonic emblem which is shown below.
It was an informative visit in terms of history, prominent members and their role in the general society but I expected more excitement from the place...talk about overexpectations..
